In Timor-Leste, this role is realized through the implementation of the higher education vision and mission, which encompasses teaching, research, and community service. As an institution committed to quality, Instituto Superior Cristal (ISC) maintains that academic excellence is measured not only by classroom instruction but also by the tangible contributions of lecturers and students in solving societal issues through rigorous research and consistent, well-targeted community service.

Response to National Development Needs

Timor-Leste is currently in a crucial phase of national development across various sectors, ranging from education and health to the community economy. The development challenges of the modern era require evidence-based policy solutions. The establishment of CPSC is a strategic step by ISC to provide a platform for researchers and academics to produce scientific studies relevant to the national development needs across the various fields of study within the ISC environment.

Enhancing Academic Quality and Professionalism

To achieve both national and international accreditation standards, the productivity of scientific publications is a key indicator. Thus far, the research potential within ISC has required a more structured management framework. CPSC was established to:

  • Coordinate all research and community service activities at the institutional level in an integrated manner.
  • Manage scientific journals as a medium for the broad dissemination of scholarly work produced by the faculty.
  • Ensure that every research project adheres to strict methodological standards, high validity, and established research ethics.

This center was established to bridge the gap between academic theories taught on campus and social realities.
